Cash Drawer & Day Close
Managing your cash drawer and performing a proper "Day Close" (or Shift Close) is essential for accurate accounting.
Opening a Shift
When you first log in or start sales after a close, a new session (or "Cash Drawer Sequence") is automatically opened. All sales and payments are tracked against this open shift.
Managing the Cash Drawer
During the day, you can perform various actions:
- Cash In/Out: (If configured) Record petty cash expenses or cash drops.
- X-Report: Print a snapshot of the current shift's performance without closing it. This is useful for mid-day checks or shift changes where the drawer isn't fully reconciled.
Closing the Cash Drawer (Day Close)
At the end of a shift or business day, you must close the cash drawer to reconcile your sales and payments.
- Navigate to Settings > Close Cash.
- Review Summaries:
- Sales Summary: Total sales, refunds, discounts, and taxes.
- Payment Summary: Breakdown of payments by method (Cash, Card, UPI, etc.).
- Declaration:
- Count the physical cash in your drawer.
- Enter the counted amount in the declaration section.
- The system will calculate any Overage (extra cash) or Shortage (missing cash).
- Close & Print:
- Tap Close to finalize the shift.
- A Z-Report will strictly generated, summarizing the entire shift's financial data.
Important: Once a Close Cash (Z-Report) is performed, it cannot be undone. Always double-check your physical cash count.
Reports (X vs. Z)
- X-Report: A read-only snapshot. Does not reset totals. Use anytime.
- Z-Report: The final report. Resets totals for the next shift. Use only when closing.
